Diocesan Choir Dates 2018

2018 sees a number of celebrations, training days and Diocesan events for musicians. Many thanks to all those who have already joined us for celebrations so far this year, such as the Marriage Mass and the Rite of Election.

The Diocesan Chrism Mass takes place in Clifton Cathedral on 28th March. Diocesan musicians are invited to join the choirs for each of these events. Please visit the relevant pages for more information and to register.

As well as these specific events, we have a couple of development days available, including Be a Better Singer and Singing the Office. Music for Lent

If you are choosing music for Lent, why not consider some music from our Diocesan musicians?

Here is a recording of Martin Le Poidevin's gospel Acclamation Praise to You, Honour to You which you can purchase from our shop.

Welcome to the Clifton Diocese Music Service.

The Music Service is based at Clifton Roman Catholic Cathedral in Bristol, where we provide a wide range of music for Masses and other celebrations at the Cathedral, both as a part of parish life and as a part of the wider diocese.

Clifton Cathedral is a house for the people of God built in 1973 - but we also provide services and resources for the wider diocese of Clifton (www.cliftondiocese.com).

Whether you are from the parish of Clifton, the diocese of Clifton or from elsewhere, you are welcome to browse our site where you will find details of our musicians, the music we create as part of the liturgy, and much more.

To listen to and subscribe to our Jerusalem Award Winning podcasts, with music by Richard Jeffrey-Gray, visit www.cliftondiocese.com/let-us-pod

We came out the winner - against 10 others, including traditional broadcasters such as the BBC - in the new media category.

We have a dynamic music team here at Clifton, who are active outside the Church in music to bring a fresh approach to music in the liturgy. Our team also compose and arrange music for the liturgy in differing styles, so we can truly say that the music we provide is from plainsong to music on which the ink is still wet. Our mission is to bring ourselves and the people we meet closer to God through our music, meeting them where they are in their journey in faith, in their understanding of what music can do for them and with them in the spirit of what we sing for and with them. Although we do do other things too - see www.hoxa.net we sang at the last ever flight of Concorde!
